How Much Litter to Put in a Litter Box? Easy Depth Guide
Most cats do well with 2 to 3 inches of litter spread evenly across the bottom of the box. That depth gives a cat room to dig and cover waste, lets clumping litter form solid clumps before urine reaches the pan, and keeps the surface firm enough to stand on. This is just a suggestion because veterinary advice does not settle on one depth that will work for all cats.
